On a family audio tour of the Houses of Parliament, younger visitors can enjoy an engaging commentary presented in the style of a ‘live’ news broadcast.
During this hour-long journey around the House of Lords, House of Commons and medieval Westminster Hall, time-travelling reporters report from the scene of many of the stories associated with Parliament. Produced with children aged 7 to 12 in mind, the family audio tour is entertaining for young-at-heart adults too. Find out more about audio tours at the Houses of Parliament.
Family audio tours are available on Saturdays throughout the year plus Monday to Friday between 3 August and 4 September 2015 (except 31 August 2015).
Between 2pm and 4pm on Fridays 7, 14, 21 and 28 August and on Saturday 8 August, Parliament’s Visitor Assistants will be running a number of family-friendly activities. Kids will be able to take part in mock debates about topics that matter to them, help create new political parties, and more.
Audio tour tickets can be purchased online, by calling +44 (0)20 7219 4114 or in person from the Ticket Office at the front of Portcullis House on Victoria Embankment. One child under 16 goes free with each paying adult, additional children £7.20 each. Tickets are £18 for adults and £15.50 for over 60s and other concessions.
There is no additional charge or need to pre-book for the family friendly activities which are open to tour ticket holders only. Just ask one of the Visitor Assistants or go to the Jubilee Room off Westminster Hall before or after the tour.
